LYMPHO NEWS

Dear friends,

It is hard to believe that it is November and almost the end of 2023. For the ILF, it has been a busy year with research projects continuing internationally. In addition, we held our conference in Nottingham, UK, which provided a valuable platform for people from around the world to share knowledge, foster collaboration and raise awareness about lymphoedema. We are so grateful for all the input - from patients to professionals - as working together for this cause sends such a strong message.

Importantly, at the Framework Day held on Monday 12 June in Nottingham, it was unanimously agreed to change the structure of the ILF board to make it more representative of the framework countries and to ensure a stronger international voice. With this in mind, a Framework committee has now been established to work alongside a smaller executive board.

The first meeting of the Framework committee will take place on 10 December, 2023. We look forward to publishing the outcomes of this meeting in our next Newsletter.

As always, it is great to hear your news - research findings, collaborations, new initiatives, or upcoming events. Please do get in touch so that we can share what is happening within the global community through this newsletter.

With best wishes from
Christine Moffatt CBE and the ILF Board of Directors

Lipoedema World Congress 2023

The first world lipoedema conference was recently held in Potsdam, Germany. The event was designed to bring together a broad spectrum of healthcare professionals as well as representatives of patient associations from around the world to share experiences and expertise on an international level and to reflect on how best to incorporate these insights into education and clinical practice. The ILF was well represented at the event, with Professor Christine Moffatt CBE speaking about the psychosocial challanges of managing lipoedema.
