The existence of the Institute of Applied Dermatology (IAD) situated in Kasaragod, Kerala, India, is threatened by the coronavirus pandemic
The IAD is a not-for-profit charity registered under Indian laws, founded and run by dermatologist Dr S.R. Narahari and his wife, dermatologist Dr K.S. Prasanna. The International Lymphoedema Framework (ILF) and the IAD have collaborated on research activities, publications and conference presentations since 2009.
ILF chair Prof. Christine Moffatt CBE has personally visited the IAD hospital and taken part in the treatment of patients with lymphoedema caused by Lymphatic Filariasis or other forms of lymphoedema. Other internationally well-known experts on lymphoedema have also visited and are recommending the work of the IAD. For more information please visit the website https://iad.org.in/.
Dr Narahari has issued a call to the ILF and its international network for assistance, asking for financial support to overcome the crisis created by the coronavirus and pandemic. The ILF Board of Directors will respond to this call in two ways:
- By making our own financial contribution of the association and privately to the IAD
- By circulating the request of Dr Narahari to the entire ILF network and setting up this subpage of the ILF website which can be used to donate to the IAD.
All donations received will be used only for the purpose of treating the poor and running the hospital.
If you wish to make a donation, please complete it before the 14th March. Upon this date all donations will be transferred to the IAD.
How to support?
The ILF will handle and transmit to the IAD the full amount of any donation made for the IAD through the ILF. Only fees charged by the transferring bank will be deducted from the donated amount.
For your convenience, you can make your donation either:
- By international credit card (facilitated by PayPal) through the payment module below or
- By bank transfer directly to the ILF bank account at the ILF secretariat in Denmark. If you would like to make a bank transfer, please contact email@example.com for further information.
